Is permanent makeup the same as an eyebrow tattoo?

"Eyebrow tattoo" is the everyday name for micropigmentation (permanent makeup). The difference from a classic tattoo: the pigment sits superficially, in the upper layers of the skin, so it fades gradually — it lasts 1–3 years in general — and looks like soft makeup rather than a drawn outline. We don’t do microblading (hairstrokes), only powder brows, in central Chișinău on Negruzzi 6.

Who should not have permanent make-up? (contraindications)

We do not perform permanent make-up during pregnancy and breastfeeding, during cancer treatment, with uncontrolled diabetes, with clotting disorders or anticoagulant therapy, with active skin conditions in the area (psoriasis, eczema, an active cold sore on the lips, inflamed acne), with a tendency to keloid scarring, or sooner than 2–4 weeks after Botox, filler or a peel in that area. If you have a chronic condition or take medication regularly, tell us at the consultation and, if needed, get your doctor’s approval. The consultation beforehand is mandatory and included in the price.

How long does permanent makeup (micropigmentation) last, and why is a touch-up needed?

Micropigmentation lasts 1–3 years in general, depending on your skin type, the shade chosen and your aftercare. The touch-up is done 1–3 months after the first session to set the color and correct any areas where the pigment has faded. At MY MARAFET STUDIO in central Chișinău we treat the touch-up as a natural part of the process for an even, natural-looking result.

Is micropigmentation painful?

Most clients describe the sensation as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful, especially because we use a topical numbing cream that greatly reduces any discomfort. Sensitivity can vary by area and with your menstrual cycle, so we suggest not booking during those days. We discuss your comfort right from the consultation at our studio on Bd. Constantin Negruzzi 6.

How do I prepare for a micropigmentation session?

For 24–48 hours beforehand, avoid coffee, alcohol and blood-thinning medication (unless prescribed) for a smoother process. Come with the shape or shade you have in mind — we sketch and approve it together before we begin. If you have a medical condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, let us know at the consultation in central Chișinău so we can advise you properly.

How much does permanent makeup cost?

Powder brows start at 3 500 MDL, lip blush at 3 500 MDL and an eyeliner tattoo at 2 000 MDL. Touch-ups at 1–3 months: brows from 2 000 MDL, lips from 2 000 MDL, eyeliner from 1 000 MDL; a refresh between 3 months and a year is from 3 000 MDL. Old pigment on brows or lips is removed with a remover, from 1 200 MDL, usually over several sessions.
