PMU Healing: What Happens Day by Day
The most common panic after permanent makeup: “It’s too dark!” Breathe — it’s exactly as it should be. Here is the real healing timeline, just as Lesea explains it to every client at MY MARAFET STUDIO in Chișinău.
Days 1–3: intense
Fresh pigment is 30–40% darker than the final result. It’s the “wow, that’s a lot” phase — it passes.
Days 4–10: flaking
The skin repairs itself and fine scabs appear. Do NOT touch them — they take pigment with them. Apply only the recommended cream, and avoid the sauna, the pool and makeup on the area.
Days 10–30: the shade settles
The colour looks too light at first, then “rises” to its final, natural shade. Only now can you judge the result.
At 1–3 months: the touch-up
The touch-up (2,000 lei for brows) perfects the shape and covers the small spots that “spat out” pigment. It’s part of the process, not a flaw. The touch-up is done 1–3 months after the first session.

Why do my brows look far too dark right after the procedure?
Fresh pigment sits 30 to 40 percent darker than the final result. That stage lasts the first three days and fades on its own, and it is the worry we talk clients through most often in the studio.
What do I do about the flaking?
Between day 4 and day 10 the skin renews itself and fine flakes appear. Do not touch or pick them, because the pigment lifts off with them. Use only the recommended cream, and keep the sauna, the pool and makeup off the area.
When can I judge the result?
Closer to day 30. Between day 10 and day 30 the colour first looks too light, then gradually comes back to its final, natural shade, so there is nothing to assess before that.
