How to Choose a Beauty Course: 6 Questions Before You Pay
A beauty course is a serious investment — 8 000–13 000 lei at foundation level. Before you choose (including us), ask ANY school these 6 questions:

- How much practice on real models is included? Theory without your hands on skin is worth nothing.
- Who teaches, and do they still work with clients? An instructor who no longer practises is teaching techniques from 5 years ago.
- How many students per group? More than 6 — and nobody gets properly corrected.
- What do you get afterwards? Support, supervised touch-ups, a community?
- Is the certificate recognised by the people who matter — clients and employers — through the school’s reputation, not through stamps?
- Can you see the graduates’ work? Ask for it. All of it.
Which course to start with: brows, lash lift or extensions
MY MARAFET ACADEMY runs three beginner courses, and each one is a different way into the trade:
- Brows, 4 days — the broadest base: architecture, colour theory and brow lamination, with the most theory and the biggest initial investment.
- Lash lamination, 2 days — the fastest way in: in two days you have a complete service, but only one, and the client comes back only after 6–8 weeks.
- Lash extensions, 4 days — the hardest on the hand (isolation is the skill everything else depends on), but with the best rhythm: the client comes back for an infill after a few weeks, not a few months.
All three start from zero and are taught in Romanian and in Russian. If you already work and want one technique taken all the way, the one-to-one masterclass is the right fit, not a beginner course.

How many students should there be in one group?
More than six is already too many — one trainer can't get round the room and correct every student's hands. Ask about group size before you pay, not after.
How much hands-on practice should a course include?
Ask how many hours you spend working on live models rather than mannequins or paper. Theory you never put into practice on a real face won't bring you clients. At MY MARAFET ACADEMY in central Chisinau, practice starts on day one.
Does it matter if the trainer still works with clients?
Yes. An artist who has stopped taking clients usually teaches techniques from several years ago. Ask whether the person teaching still takes clients now, and ask to see recent work.
What is a beauty course certificate actually worth?
A certificate is worth exactly what the school issuing it is worth: the people who judge it are clients and employers, not the stamps on the paper.
