Your First Visit to My Marafet: How It Goes
A first appointment at a new studio almost always comes with an unspoken question: “and what if I don’t like the result?” It is a legitimate worry, especially after a bad experience. Our answer is not a promise but a process — one that can be told minute by minute.
Before you come: what to tell us when you book
Most unpleasant surprises in beauty come not from the artist’s hand but from information that never reached her. The moment you book is already part of the treatment.
Tell us, when you book or at the latest when you arrive:
- if you use retinol or retinoids on your forehead and around your eyes;
- if you have recently had a chemical peel or an acid treatment;
- if you have irritation, broken skin, eczema or sunburn in the area we will be working on;
- if you know you are allergic to tint, henna, wax, thread or lamination products — where needed we do a patch test 24–48 hours beforehand;
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding — tinting and lamination are discussed with your artist first, and permanent make-up is not done at all;
- if you wear contact lenses, in the case of lash treatments.
The day before, you get a notification asking you to confirm. It is not a formality: if you let us know in good time that you cannot make it, the slot goes to someone who was waiting. And if you are running late, tell us — something can often be rearranged, but only if we hear in time.
The short consultation at the start, and why it matters
Every visit begins with a few minutes of talking, not with tweezers. We look at the shape you have now, the direction of the hairs, your skin type and what you have tried so far. We ask what you do not like about your brows — that answer tells us more than any photograph from Instagram.
For permanent make-up the consultation is not optional: it is compulsory and included in the price, because we discuss contraindications, shade, shape and expectations before anything touches the skin.
We draw the shape before the tweezers touch you
Brow architecture is built on the face, not from memory. We place the reference points, read the asymmetry — every face is asymmetrical — and draw the outline in pencil.
Only once you have looked in the mirror and said “yes, that’s it” does the work begin. If something in the drawing is wrong, that is the moment to say so: an outline wipes off in two seconds, a removed hair does not go back.
For permanent make-up this step takes the longest of the appointment, and so it should be: shape and shade are approved together, before the first pass.
How long each treatment takes
We do not book by guesswork. Every service has its allotted time, exactly the one in the price list:
- brow shaping — 20 minutes, from 250 MDL;
- shaping and thinning — 30 minutes, from 300 MDL;
- shaping with tint — about an hour, from 420 MDL;
- brow lamination without tint — 40 minutes; with tint — one hour, from 600 MDL;
- lash lamination, with tinting and botox included — one hour, from 600 MDL;
- 1D lash extensions — an hour and a half, from 600 MDL;
- brow permanent make-up — two and a half hours, from 3,500 MDL.
If you want two services in one visit, tell us when you book so we can set aside the time. A lash lamination plus a brow shaping will not fit into an hour.
How it feels, without embellishment
With shaping the sensation is brief and bearable: a plucked hair stings for a second, then passes. Many clients say thread is easier to take than wax, because it drags at the hair rather than the skin, and the discomfort lessens after the first few appointments.
Lamination and tinting do not hurt — you may feel a slight warmth or tingling. Tell us straight away if anything stings: the product comes off on the spot.
With permanent make-up, most clients describe the sensation as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful, because we use a topical numbing cream. Sensitivity varies from person to person and with the days of your cycle — so we suggest avoiding appointments then.
It is natural to feel nervous when you are considering permanent make-up. What matters is choosing a specialist with whom you feel heard, understood and safe.
From the studio’s experience
At the end: what to do at home
The last five minutes are about what you do next. After tinting and lamination: 24 hours with no water, steam, sauna or hot baths on the treated area, no scrub and no cosmetics over the brows. After extensions or lash lamination: 24–48 hours with no water, steam or eye make-up.
Then the simple routine — brushing in the direction of growth, gel in the morning, oil at night. We go through all of it there and then, and repeat it any time you forget.
Your next appointment and the loyalty card
Before you leave we tell you honestly when to come back: every 3–4 weeks for shaping and tinting, every 6–8 weeks for lash lamination, every 2–3 weeks for extension infills. In December and August the diary fills first, so book well ahead for those months, straight from the booking page.
Stay with us and you join the loyalty card: twelve visits, twelve little hearts, discounts on the third, eighth and twelfth.
And yes, we're pet friendly: your dog can come along.

One more thing: your opinion counts after you have left. A survey of ours taught us that the beds for lash treatments were uncomfortable for shorter women — we fixed it because somebody told us. If something was not right, write to us. That is how a studio worth returning to gets built, and if you are still choosing, we have a 7-point checklist for any salon, not only ours.
FAQ
Should I come without make-up?
For brows and lashes it is not essential — we clean and degrease the area before we start. For make-up, ideally you arrive with clean, moisturised skin, but if you have not had time, we prepare it here.
Can I come just for a consultation?
Yes. Write to us and we will set aside a few minutes to talk, without booking a treatment. For permanent make-up the consultation is part of the process anyway and is included in the price of the work.
How long does a first visit take?
As long as the treatment you have chosen, plus 5–10 minutes of consultation and drawing the shape. Shaping with tint means about an hour, and brow permanent make-up two and a half hours.
