How to Keep Your Lash Extensions Beautiful for 4 Weeks
Well-applied extensions last 3–4 weeks — if you help them a little. The rules from MY MARAFET STUDIO:
The first 24 hours
No water, steam or sauna — the adhesive needs time to cure completely.
Every day
- No oil-based products on the eye area — oil dissolves the adhesive.
- Brush them every morning with the spoolie you received at your appointment.
- Don’t pull or twist them — you’ll lose the natural lash along with the extension.
- Sleeping face-down flattens them; a silk pillowcase helps.
When do you come in for an infill?
When fewer than 60% of your extensions are left — usually around week 3. An infill costs from 500 lei; professional removal, 70. Never remove them yourself at home!

Can I wash my face or use a sauna after getting lash extensions?
Not in the first 24 hours — water, steam and saunas are out while the adhesive cures. After day one water is fine again; oil-based products and rubbing your eyes are what stay off-limits.
Why are oil-based products a problem around the eyes?
Oil breaks down the adhesive, so lashes start shedding sooner than they should. Check your makeup remover, eye cream and serums — if oil is in the formula, swap them for oil-free versions while you have extensions on.
Does the way I sleep matter?
Yes. Sleeping face-down flattens the lashes and leaves them kinked by morning. A silk pillowcase cuts down the friction, and a quick brush each morning with the spoolie you were given sets them straight again.
Can I take the extensions off myself at home?
No. Pulling or twisting them takes your natural lash out along with the extension. Removal is a salon job, with a remover that dissolves the adhesive, and it costs far less than an infill.
